Scottish Parliamentary Election Constituency Results 1999-2016

Since Scottish devolution, there have been five elections to select the 129 Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs). Each person living in Scotland has the opportunity to vote in:

– one of 73 constituencies to return one candidate per constituency as a MSP.
– one of 8 regions to return seven candidates per region as MSPs (calculated by the D’Hondt formula).

The boundaries of some of these constituencies and regions was changed prior to the 2011 election.

Using historic Scottish Parliamentary election result data and 1999-2007 and 2011-2016 constituency boundaries, the maps below show the winning party for each constituency along with their percentage majority for each of the five Scottish Parliamentary elections.
