Scotland’s Rainfall in 2020

From the western Highlands (one of the wettest parts of Europe) to the east coast lowlands, the amount of rainfall experienced by Scotland varies a lot.

Using Tanaka contours and precipitation estimates derived from combined microware and infra red satellite data from the Giovanni service at NASA Earth Data, the following map was produced to show the variation in accumulated rainfall (~1300 to 5300 mm) across Scotland in 2020.
